My purpose is to foster safety and hope, so you have the courage to show up as you are, learn what you need, and grow into who you’re becoming.
Hi,
I'm Sophie!
I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in private practice in Denver, Colorado, specializing in animal-assisted and somatic-based therapy.

I earned my Bachelor's degree in Psychology from American University and my Master's in Social Work, with an emphasis in Health and Wellness, from the University of Denver. My experience spans a range of settings, including working with youth experiencing homelessness, providing social-emotional support in under-resourced schools, and offering individual and group therapy in community mental health and outpatient settings. I have worked with clients across the lifespan, from elementary school-aged through adulthood, which allows me to meet people where they are and tailor our work to their unique needs.

My approach is grounded in a systems perspective. I believe we cannot fully understand or heal from stress, trauma, and emotional challenges without considering the broader contexts that shape our lives, i.e., relationships, work, school, identity, culture, and the impact of systemic oppression.

I am committed to creating a space rooted in anti-oppressive and liberation-focused practices, one where you can feel seen, affirmed, and supported in all aspects of your identity. This is a space where you can explore the full weight of your experiences, including the personal and political, and begin to move toward healing and growth.

A few core principles guide my approach:
-
You are the expert of your own life. My role is to support and guide you in uncovering what's already within you.
-
Therapy should be a space that celebrates and affirms who you are, that does not require educating your therapist on your identity.
-
There is no one way to heal. I draw from a range of modalities to meet your unique circumstances, needs, and goals.
-
Therapy is your space. You are free to show up as you are, whether that means laughing, crying, yelling, cursing, or sitting in silence.
-
I show up as a human in the room. I am not a blank slate; I value authenticity and believe that a genuine therapeutic relationship is central to meaningful change.

GET TO KNOW ME
I grew up in Evanston, Illinois, and made my way to Denver in the fall of 2019. Outside the therapy room, you'll usually find me practicing yoga, playing sports, or going for a long walk with Winnie. I'm drawn to spirituality, soaking up time in the mountains, and learning about whatever passions my friends are currently chasing. My love of movement and mindfulness shapes how I think about healing—I see growth as something that happens in both the body and the mind.

My Guiding Principles
Insight
Cultivating awareness of patterns and habits that no longer support your well-being, create space to choose what truly resonates.
Transparency
Sharing openly, holding space for honest reflection, and invitiing clarity on intentions, practices, and experiences.
Compassion
Offering support, encouragement, and understanding—for yourself and others—as you explore, build and reconnect.
Embodiment
Engaging fully with your body, mind, and presence, allowing intuition to guide you naturally rather than forcing outcomes.
I consider it a privilege to walk
alongside you in this work.
Therapy is a collaborative process. Your experiences, values, and goals guide our sessions—I'm here to listen carefully, offer perspective, and help you move through the obstacles in your way. Together, we will explore meaningful strategies for growth, strengthen your coping skills, and work toward the changes that matter most to you.
